If you’re looking for my weekly post FROM ONE THING TO ANOTHER, it’s right underneath this one!
Hello SEASONS Bloggers,
Thanks to several of you about the input about the bird houses! This week people contributed to Earth Day, Australia: ANZAC DAY and Next Sunday it’s MAY!
Two weeks ago a friend from Pennsylvania called us they had a new pack of about 4 inches of snow as well as snow in several other states, Austin TX had a 12 inch flood, and in some very fortunate states like California flowers are blooming, the sun shining. In India a heat wave of 104 degr. F claimed 160 lives.
I know it’s not fair! But we’ll talk later when your flowers are blooming and my hill sides in California have that ugly brown color (which it looks like most of the year …up till now)!
Just a reminder, Seasons is not only about weather and landscapes, but your experiences, graduations, birthdays, trips, and any other experience during the season are also greatly appreciated! Everyone who has a blog (not for profit) can join – with one image per week!
By the way, if you click on the black pic (next page) , it is one of the regular participants! Next month I hope I have some (happy) messy pics to show -you are forewarned:):)

Leaves still in the growing stage. What I like about living in the forest are the large amounts of shade the trees provide. Nice when it gets over a 100 degrees F.:)
Poppies are the state flower of California (Every state has its own flower). Seen along the wayside and hills now everywhere. When they’re so close together, I don’t want to take a side view, and trample some others.
The orange poppies are more common here than the red ones.

Down Town Sutter Creek, half an hour away which was one of the towns
along Highway 49, the main vein of the Gold Rush, that made the “Californian Dream” so famous!
Forgot to look, but I don’t think those flowers are real, lol.

Oleander -blooming almost all year in California in various colors- very common as road side landscaping
Not advisable where kids are around. Everything on this plant is extremely poisonous.
HAPPY PASSOVER for the ones who celebrate it!
Am putting up this post early, to remind you that the photo link for SEASONS opens on Sunday April 24 – 12:01 am and runs to Wed. April 27 – 7pm Pacific time.

Lovely view of the street and the Poppies, Jesh!
I haven’t seen a water pump like that in ages.
Hard to believe I have drank out out of one of those as a kid 🙂
Have a Happy Weekend!
Peace 🙂

I love the orange poppies. Red is the most common poppy here, I don’t think I’ve come across an orange one before.

Beautiful photos! I like the poppies. Here in Sweden you can find blue and orange poppies too. You can buy russian poppies which get several colours on the same plant. Along the wayside are just red ones. Have a nice day!

The Californian poppies spell out Summer and sunshine to me. Here in Scotland they are garden flowers grown from seed. Thanks for hosting and sharing…….have a lovely week!

Started reading your Warm Heart post yesterday and was interrupted. Now I don’t know how to get back to it. However, I enjoyed this post with all the beautiful pictures. I’d love to live in a forest. It always amazes me when people here cut down nice big trees. We need the shade because of the heat. Yes, those flowers probably weren’t real, but the water pump probably isn’t real either. 🙂

Hi Jesh, I am having trouble linking. Probably just a temporary hiccup and I will be back later today.

I think of the yellow ones as California poppies — the red ones are “just” poppies! Either way I enjoy them. The yellow ones are starting to be abundant in Oregon too — I guess they migrated north! Loving your Spring. Thanks for hosting!

The shade would be nice on a hot day. The poppies are very pretty, funny thing is that the 25th is ANZAC Day here, a big day for poppies as a symbol. Interesting and lovely.

I had no idea – honest – till Nick V (the black photo on the Linky list) shared on his blog about the ANZAC poppies!

We do not see poppies here in April. I love the orange poppies and red ones as well. Liked your photos. No oleanders in NC that I have seen but plenty of them in Fl when we lived there.
Thank you for helping me with my photos. I will report that the Wine Barrels and Reflections are the most chosen with the Stone Wall not far behind.
Happy Blue Monday.
