SEASONS – April Poppies

                      Hello SEASONS Bloggers,
Thanks to several of you about the input about the bird houses!  This week people contributed to Earth Day, Australia: ANZAC DAY and Next Sunday it’s MAY!
Two weeks ago a friend from Pennsylvania called us they had a new pack of about 4 inches of snow as well as snow in several other states, Austin TX had a 12 inch flood,  and in some very fortunate states like California flowers are blooming, the sun shining. In India a heat wave  of 104 degr. F claimed 160 lives.

I know it’s not fair! But we’ll talk later when your flowers are  blooming and my hill sides in California have that ugly brown color (which it looks like most of the year …up till now)!

Just a reminder, Seasons is not only about weather and landscapes, but your experiences, graduations, birthdays, trips, and any other experience during the season are also greatly appreciated!  Everyone who has a blog (not for profit) can join – with one image per week!

Leaves still in the growing stage. What I like about living in the forest are the large amounts of shade the trees provide. Nice when it gets over a 100 degrees F.:)

 

 

 

Poppies are the state flower of California (Every state has its own flower). Seen along the wayside and hills now everywhere. When they’re so close together, I don’t want to take a side view,and trample some others.
The orange poppies are more common here than the red ones.

Down Town Sutter Creek, half an hour away which was one  of the towns
along Highway 49, the main vein of the Gold Rush, that made the “Californian Dream” so famous!
Forgot to look, but I don’t think those flowers are real, lol.

Oleander -blooming almost all year in California in various colors-  very common as road side landscaping
Not advisable where  kids are around. Everything on this plant is extremely poisonous.
