From one of our trips to Bryce and Red Canon, and Zion Nat. park, while staying close to St. George -so the road views are in between those places.
Utah – I love the contrasts – raw nature at its best. Immensely huge sky views which change every five minutes. Walls of hot red interspersed with white rock. Extremely hot temperatures during the day in summer (101 – 108 degr. F)

(1) In Utah, the green was super green, and the red amazingly bright brick red.

Could not believe our eyes -this is a Trabant -a car, that “everyone” had in former Eastern Germany (except the high executives of the Communistic party and government). Still remember being sore from a ride because of the incredibly bad shocks in this car had! Masha reminded me that it takes about 20 years (really!)before your car is ready -YELP!
(3) So amazed by Utah I could go overboard:):) (not literally!)

Bryce, and Zion are my favorite parks in Utah! I’ve done horse back riding and river rafting in Zion, both are amazing.
The red dirt…is really, really hard to get out of white socks and shorts!

When He-Man and I were dating we camped in Zion. It was our first trip together. I taught him how to camp. He was just a “city” guy until he met me. He says it was that trip that he made up his mind that I really was the right girl. His thinking was if I could live in a tent for days, with little food, and little to no make-up…I had lipstick at all times, could cook, fish, and teach him how to fish and camp then I passed all the “tests” on his lists. There were a couple of other things on his list but those were related to city life, and life in general.
35 yrs later I wonder what he’d say today? 🙂 We haven’t camped together in eons. I have backpacked and camped, but he hasn’t gone with me.
I like your door choice for this week. It’s different!! Not all doors are to buildings or homes.

What? Plan a camping trip for both of you for your next significant day/event! Even if you are some adjustments … You’ll be glad you did it. We now do urban camping (meaning a cabin), but the rest is still the same:)

Urban camping works for me and him! Unfortunately, that’s not where the image is that I want to make. He’s not hiking into the wilderness with me…which has made me sad more than once. Backpacking for the shot isn’t his thing…not even for me.

Hehe, a Trabant, stranded in Utah!
We had not all Trabants, many people never had a car and had it not needed – our public traffic was very good and cheap (in contrast to today, as having a car is the onliest way to come from one village to another – ). To buy a car was very difficult and we have waited 20 years on it. When a child was born, the parents often just filled the application form for buying a Trabant and when the child was adult, they finally could buy the Trabant….
My parents never had a car and I by muself the same (until today, but with another reasons)
