A BALBOA SPRING

Have postponed this post since so many of you were still living in the middle of snow. But this week Spring will start and am roaring to  jump into the new  season:)
The weather was nice to St Patricks Day – reaching a temp of 93 degr.F

Added a little blurb about the current Header in my “About” section

Balboa Park looks festive when the cherry trees are blooming at several places.
What a Joy!
The crown of this cherry tree reminded me on a mushroom.

Balboa Park is also a cultural center. Several museums which do not charge visitors:)
Am sitting on the lawn of the restaurant to get the best view for my watercolor.
The Henri Moore  sculpture in the foreground was part of a modern art exhibit in the garden of the restaurant at the time I took this pic.

Top of the dome (pic above) is on the right. On the left  is a tower with what looks like tile work.
Have been working forever on a watercolor of these two.

A reflection of the building across in this window. The blue on top is the sky.
As you can see a variety of architecture!

  1. I’ve never been there but I have some artwork that my grandfather bought for my grandmother when they went there on vacation long ago. He bought it from a street artist and it shows a street view including the dome. Your pictures let me see what it really looks like. beautiful!

  4. I love those window reflections. Have a great start to spring. It is autumn here now, and I am starting to pull up the rugs during the night. Have a wonderful week, and thank you for stopping by my blog last week. Sorry I got behind in my replies.

  5. I love the cherry blossom. Once it’s out I feel there is no going back to the dark, cold, dreary wintry weather. No mistaking the Henry Moore sculpture there.

  6. Our cherry trees are trying to bloom, but Mother Nature keeps tricking them into thinking “Nope, winter’s not over just yet!” Drat!

  9. Thank you so much for linking with Today’s Flowers. Your photos of Balboa Park are gorgeous. This is a place visited many times when we lived there years ago, and visited a few times since on trips back to Southern California. Love seeing it again 🙂
